Nidd Realty was launched in 1997 with the goal of building a business that set new standards of industry ethics and values, and a business totally committed to providing the best service to buyers and sellers. Initially a franchised business, the move to being totally independent allowed Nidd Realty the freedom to further develop the business while doing things the way people in the South like.

Having entered the industry in 2005, Joe Nidd has built a team with a huge wealth of experience, including several agents who each have more than a decade of experience in the industry. Working alongside him as company directors, are Liz Nidd whose more than three decades of industry experience is invaluable to the business, along with Michael Nidd, the company’s legal advisor. This strong management focus means that the team is supported by the company and given continuing education in all facets of their work with professionalism, ethics and integrity held as top priorities in every aspect of the business.

Nidd Realty has a strong sense of corporate responsibility and has raised in excess of $100,000 for Cure Kids through their charity auctions and enough money to fund seven guide dogs before that. In 2015 the Nidd Realty Youth Innovation Fund was started to help fund young entrepreneurs in Dunedin and in 2023 the Nidd Realty Community Fund was launched, providing regular $1,000 donations to different charities, selected by team members or in some cases by public nomination. This has helped kick-start fundraising initiatives by team members who use this as a launch pad for their own charity support projects.

The convenient, central office at 211 High Street specialises in Residential, Lifestyle, and Investment Property Sales, and also offers a dedicated auction facility, while our specialist Property Management team is based across the road at 226 High Street.

Liz was the Regional Director for the Real Estate Institute for many years and is now on the Real Estate Agents Authority board – the government body that regulates the industry. Michael Nidd has over 30 years of property law experience and is also a director. He provides legal support for the team ensuring you have the highest level of oversight on the sale of your home, helping to avoid potential complications.
