Dunedin Rental Commentary - September 2025 (July stats)
In July, the median weekly rent increased by 9% compared to last year, reaching $530. The lower quartile rent showed the strongest growth, rising 26% year-on-year, while the upper quartile rent remained steady at $600. A total of 222 bonds were lodged for the month, marking a 25% increase from the same time last year. In contrast, closed bonds fell by 27%, with 255 recorded. Rental supply also grew, with an average of 500 listings on TradeMe during the month, an 18% increase year-on-year.
