Dunedin Rental Market Update - January 2025 (November stats)

The market is showing a decrease in movement between properties and a reduction in the average rent per week from previous months.

KEY POINTS

• Median rent increased by 4% year-on-year to $500 per week in November. 
• The lower quartile rent increased 10% year-on-year to $375.
• The upper quartile rent increased 4% year-on-year to $620.
• 261 bonds were lodged for the month which was a 8% year-on-year decrease. 
• The number of closed bonds was 261, which was a 21% decrease from this time last year.
• The average number of available listings on TradeMe was 377 which is a 12% decrease year-on-year.
