The market continues to show slight decrease in movement from tenants between properties as supply and rental prices increase.

Median rent increased by 14% year-on-year to $550 per week in October.

The lower quartile rent increased 15% year-on-year to $415.

The upper quartile rent increased 8% year-on-year to $625.

258 bonds were lodged for the month which was a 8% year-on-year decrease.

The number of closed bonds was 306, very similar to this time last year.

The average number of available listings on TradeMe was 490 which is a 22% increase year-on-year.
